    Baby Names by Numerology Number

Every name in our library grouped by its Chaldean name number.

Name numerology adds the letter values of a name and reduces the total to a single digit. Each digit is traditionally tied to a planet and a set of qualities. Pick a number to see every boy and girl name that reduces to it, or check a spelling you already like with the name numerology calculator.

    Common questions

How is a name's numerology number worked out?
    Each letter gets a Chaldean value (A, I, J, Q, Y = 1; B, K, R = 2; C, G, L, S = 3; D, M, T = 4; E, H, N, X = 5; U, V, W = 6; O, Z = 7; F, P = 8). The values are added, then the digits are added again until one digit from 1 to 9 remains.
Which numerology system do Indian families use?
Most Indian name-numerology guides use the Chaldean system, which these pages follow. The Pythagorean system (A=1 … I=9, then repeating) gives different numbers; our calculator shows both.
Does numerology decide a baby's character?
No. Numerology is a cultural tradition, not a science. Many families enjoy it as one more way to shortlist names, alongside meaning, sound and the rashi syllable.
