Editorial Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
We write calm, practical guidance that parents can act on. This page explains how a page gets from idea to publication, and how we keep it accurate afterwards.
Sources
Health and development content is based on primary sources: peer-reviewed research and guidance from bodies such as the AAP, CDC, WHO, NHS, NIH and the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. We cite sources on the page and avoid presenting opinion as fact. Where evidence is limited or experts disagree, we say so.
Review
- Health, safety, sleep, feeding and development articles are reviewed by clinicians or child-development specialists on our medical review council before publishing.
- Health and safety articles are scheduled for re-review at least every 12 months, and sooner when guidelines change.
- Each article shows its author and, where applicable, its reviewer. Read about our experts.
- The “Last updated” date changes only when the content itself changes.
Calculators
The maths behind our tools lives in separate, automatically tested code that uses the published reference data (for example WHO and CDC growth tables) rather than approximations. Each tool page explains its method and lists its sources.
Baby names
Name meanings and origins come from dictionaries, scripture and established name references. Some new name entries are drafted with the help of AI; none is published until a person has reviewed and approved it. Rashi and nakshatra for a name are calculated from its first syllable.
Independence
Reviewers are not paid per article, and our editorial decisions are independent of advertisers, sponsors and affiliate partners.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email support@parentingtipsandguide.com with the page link. We check every report and correct confirmed errors promptly; significant corrections to health content are noted on the page.
